In preserving original aspects of the building and incorporating historic reminders in the design, Citizens Coffee & Wine Café embodies Hempstead’s past and present. Previously Citizens State Bank in downtown Hempstead, the original bank vault has been preserved to serve as an intimate dining space for get-togethers and events.
